Doug McLean first became interested in photography as a child, when one day his father brought home the station wagon filled with "stuff", and said "we are building a darkroom". They did indeed build a fully equipped darkroom, and Doug spent many hours in his early teens developing photographs taken with his first camera, a simple Kodak X15.

Many years later, on weekends and evenings Doug's wife Karen often accompanies him to interesting locations so he can view the world from different angles and capture what he sees. His dog (Piper) frequently finds herself in front of his lens, but Doug also photographs nature, wildlife, sports, events, close up and macro subjects, old and antique items, historic locations, and anything else that is interesting.

With ever increasing stock portfolios, Doug has sold photographs around the world. His photographs have been purchased by clients such as Microsoft, the US Army, Nasdaq, Reader's Digest, Yahoo, several news agencies, and thousands of other organizations. His photos have appeared on websites and blogs, in magazines and othert publications, on book covers and in brochures, and in numerous other places.

Doug's current gear includes a Nikon D800, a Nikon D500, and a Nikon D7000 converted for infra red photography. Combined with his assortment of lenses, accessories, and other photography related equipment, Doug is ready for just about any photographic assignment.
